Eight Punjab IPR Officers Promoted, Posted to Key Roles

CHANDIGARH, May 16 — In a marked administrative move, the Punjab Information and Public Relations Department has promoted eight officers to higher posts following a departmental promotion committee (DPC) meeting held on May 8.

The promotion orders were formally issued today after receiving clearance from Minister of Information and Public Relations S. Harjot Singh Bains.

According to the official order, two Deputy Directors — Ishwinder Singh Grewal and Manvinder Singh — have been promoted to the rank of Joint Director. Grewal has been posted at the department’s head office in Chandigarh, while Manvinder Singh will serve as Joint Director Press/Chief Minister, with the additional responsibility of overseeing the Border Range Amritsar.

Six other officers, including five Information and Public Relations Officers (IPROs) and one Art Executive, have been promoted to the post of Deputy Director.

Among them, Ruchi Kalra has been assigned to Bathinda, Rashim Verma to the head office with additional charge of Sri Anandpur Sahib, Navdeep Singh Gill to the head office in Chandigarh, and Prabhdeep Singh Kauldhar to the head office with additional charge of Sangrur. Hakam Thaper has been posted to Jalandhar, while Hardeep Singh will continue at the head office.

Shortly after receiving their appointment orders, the promoted officers formally joined their new roles and reported to Secretary, Information and Public Relations, Ramvir.

Expressing gratitude, the officers thanked the minister and senior departmental leadership.

“This promotion reflects the department’s trust in our work and inspires us to contribute with even more dedication,” one of the newly appointed Deputy Directors said.

The reshuffle is part of the department’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its administrative functioning across the state and optimize field-level public communication operations.
