Bahadurgarh, JAN 22: Two workers lost their lives and a third sustained critical injuries after a massive fire tore through a shoe factory in Bahadurgarh’s Modern Industrial Area early Thursday morning. The deceased, who were sleeping inside the premises when the flames broke out, have been identified as cousins hailing from Uttar Pradesh.

The blaze erupted around 5 a.m. at factory number 817, catching the occupants by surprise. Emergency responders recovered the bodies of Abdul Atwaris and Amiruddin, also known as Bade Bhaiya, from the debris after the flames were suppressed. Both victims were residents of Pali town in the Hardoi district and had only returned to their jobs in Bahadurgarh two days prior to the incident.

A third employee, identified as Arif from Asmada village in Hardoi, survived the initial outbreak but remains in critical condition. He was rushed to JJ Hospital in Bahadurgarh, where medical staff are treating him for severe burn injuries.

Fire Officer Ravinder Kumar noted that the department mobilized immediately upon receiving the alert. “The fire brigade team reached the spot and after much effort brought the fire under control,” Kumar said. He further mentioned that the bodies were discovered only after the cooling operations were completed.

Local authorities have taken possession of the remains and transported them to the civil hospital for post-mortem examinations. While the cause of the inferno remains undetermined, police officials have initiated a formal investigation into the safety protocols at the site.

“Both the deceased were cousins and had returned to work from their village just two days ago,” said Mohsin Khan, a close relative of the victims.

Investigators are currently questioning the factory management to establish the sequence of events leading to the tragedy.
