Faridabad, Jan 13: A husband, wife, and their young child were discovered dead inside their rented accommodation in Sarurpur Colony on Tuesday. The Faridabad police, operating under the Mujesar station jurisdiction, have moved the bodies for post-mortem analysis to establish a definitive cause of death.

The victims have been identified as 22-year-old Ramesh Yadav, a mason originally from Buxar, Bihar, his 21-year-old wife Mamta, and their 4-year-old son, Chhotu. The family resided together while Ramesh worked at a local construction site.

Police officials noted that the room contained a brazier (angithi), which is often linked to carbon monoxide poisoning in enclosed spaces during winter months. However, the circumstances remain under investigation as family members have raised questions regarding the equipment’s use.

“No injuries were visible on the bodies, but a brazier was found in the room. Ramesh’s brother claims it wasn’t lit that night. A forensic team investigated the scene, and police are probing further,” stated Yashpal Yadav, the spokesperson for the Faridabad police.

Investigators and forensic experts spent the afternoon scanning the premises for evidence. While the presence of the brazier is a central point of the inquiry, authorities are waiting for medical reports to confirm if smoke inhalation or another factor led to the tragedy.
