Kanauri, 12 February 2025: Farmers’ Mahapanchayat is set to take place at the Khanauri border today, marking nearly a year of the ongoing farmers’ agitation 2.0 at the Punjab-Haryana borders.
The protest, centered around 13 demands, including a legal guarantee for minimum support price (MSP), has seen continued mobilization from farmer groups.
Jagjit Singh Dallewal, a key leader who has been on a fast to death for 78 days, is expected to address the gathering. Meanwhile, in Chandigarh, the United Kisan Morcha is holding a meeting to unify the Shambhu and Khanauri Morchas ahead of the February 14 talks with the central government.
However, Khanauri Morcha leaders have declined to participate, citing the Mahapanchayat, while Shambhu Morcha leaders will attend.
