Nizampur, June 10: Amid escalating public anger, senior Congress leaders called for immediate action from the Haryana government following the alleged murder of farmer Bijender Sandhu by real estate company employees in Nizampur village. Haryana Congress president Udai Bhan and Rohtak MP Deepender Hooda visited Sandhu’s grieving family to express their solidarity.

Sandhu was reportedly assaulted on June 2 and later died from his injuries. In a significant revelation, Congress leaders stated that Sandhu had recorded a statement before his death, yet no arrests have been made in the case to date.

“The victim’s family has suffered grave injustice. It is rare to find another case in the country where, despite a dying declaration, no action has been taken,” said Deepender Hooda, criticizing the perceived inaction of local authorities. The Congress party is demanding a judicial inquiry into the matter, supervised by a sitting high court judge, and the immediate arrest of all individuals accused in the case.

“The ruling party and administration must not think that the victim’s family is alone. We will not remain silent until justice is served. The Congress stands firmly with the family,” Hooda affirmed, pledging the party’s continued support.

State Congress president Udai Bhan described the incident as “brutal” and condemned the government’s silence and delay in acting. “On June 2, farmer Bijender Sandhu of Nizampur was brutally murdered. Before his death, he gave a statement. Yet, it is shameful that the BJP government has not arrested even a single accused so far,” Bhan stated.

Several Congress leaders accompanied Bhan and Hooda during their visit. The party also indicated its intention to raise the issue on all possible platforms until justice is secured for the deceased farmer.
