CHANDIGARH/PATIALA, March 21: Punjab Police registered an FIR against police officials accused of assaulting Colonel Pushpinder Singh Bath, while a High-Level Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been constituted to probe the incident.

“The team will conduct day-to-day investigations to collect evidence and ensure legal action against the culprits,” the spokesperson noted.
To prevent interference, the concerned police officials have been transferred out of Patiala.
“All 12 officers involved have been suspended, and major departmental proceedings have been initiated against them,” the spokesperson added.
Meanwhile, ADGP (Security) Punjab has been directed to provide security cover to Colonel Bath’s family.
