New Delhi, Oct 24: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said that India’s foreign policy was being guided increasingly by the interests of the nation’s youth, with global partnerships aimed at creating new avenues of employment and entrepreneurship.
In a recorded address at the 17th Rozgar Mela, Modi said India’s strength lay in its young population, and the government was ensuring that policy decisions — domestic and global — reflected this.
“India is the youngest nation in the world, and the strength of our youth is one of our greatest assets,” Modi said. “Even our foreign policy is being shaped with the interests of India’s youth in mind. Our diplomatic engagements and global agreements are now focused on youth training and employment generation.”
At the event, over 51,000 appointment letters were distributed to newly recruited government employees. Modi said that across all editions of Rozgar Melas, the government had so far issued more than 11 lakh recruitment letters.
Highlighting India’s growing economic partnerships, he said the country had signed agreements with European nations, as well as Brazil, Singapore, South Korea, and Canada, to expand investments, support startups and MSMEs, and boost exports. “These collaborations are opening up new opportunities for the youth,” he added.
Modi also referred to the recent GST rate cuts, calling them part of a broader reform to create jobs and spur growth. “The next generation of GST reforms is expanding opportunities for employment and growth,” he said, reiterating that youth empowerment remains at the heart of government policy.
