Four Held with 4.25kg Heroin, ₹1.97 Lakh in Ferozepur

FEROZEPUR, MAY 19: In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, the Ferozepur police on Monday arrested four persons with 4.25kg of heroin and ₹1.97 lakh in drug proceeds.

Senior Superintendent of Police Bhupinder Singh Sidhu identified the accused as Swaran Singh (20) of Kamale Wala, Gurwant Singh (30) of Maste Wala, Sandeep Singh (23) of Hazara Ram Singh Wala, and Manpreet Singh (27) of Nurpur — all residents of Ferozepur district. The police also impounded the car used for transporting the contraband.

Gurwant Singh has five previous cases, including charges under the Arms and NDPS Acts, while Manpreet Singh has two cases, one involving the recovery of 80g heroin, the SSP added.

In a separate case, police arrested a 22-year-old youth, Pathi of Isa Nagari, Makhu, on Sunday with a country-made .315 bore pistol and a live cartridge.
