Chandigarh, October 12, 2025: Punjab is set to witness a major boost in its agri-food sector, with French multinational company Danone-Nutricia announcing an investment of ₹356 crore in the state. The project, backed by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s industry-friendly policies, is expected to enhance agricultural innovation and generate new employment opportunities.
Officials said the investment will focus on strengthening Punjab’s dairy ecosystem. Over 5,000 dairy farmers will be trained in modern farming practices such as high-quality milk production, animal welfare, and feed management — measures that are expected to improve both farmers’ income and milk quality.
Danone-Nutricia, which already operates a unit in Lalru, will expand its presence with this investment to build a modern production facility for nutrition-based products. The project is likely to position Punjab as a hub for agri-food innovation and attract further global investors.
The Mann government said that since taking office, Punjab has attracted investments worth over ₹1.25 lakh crore, creating approximately 4.5 lakh direct jobs. “Punjab’s hardworking youth, modern infrastructure and pro-business governance are drawing international confidence,” Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said, calling the Danone-Nutricia investment a “strong endorsement of Punjab’s growth model.”
Officials added that the state’s improving investment climate and simplified business environment are helping restore Punjab’s reputation as an agricultural powerhouse.
