New Delhi: A gold-plated crown, gifted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the Jeshoreshwari Kali Temple in Bangladesh’s Satkhira district in 2021, has been stolen.
The Indian High Commission in Bangladesh expressed “deep concern” over the incident and has raised the matter with authorities in Dhaka.
In a post on social media platform X, the High Commission stated, “We have seen reports of the theft of the crown gifted by PM Modi to the Jeshoreshwari Kali Temple in 2021.”
The post added, “We express deep concern and urge the Government of Bangladesh to investigate the theft, recover the crown, and take action against the perpetrators.”
Sources revealed that the Indian side has conveyed its disturbance over the theft of a religious article from one of Hinduism’s ‘Shaktipeeth’ temples in Bangladesh.
