Chandigarh, 09 October 2024: The Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, has approved the second and third phases of the ‘Dam Rehabilitation and Improvement Project’ at a cost of ₹281 crore to enhance the safety and efficiency of the state’s dams.
This major project, supported by the World Bank, aims to further strengthen Punjab’s dam infrastructure, according to the government officials.
According to a government spokesperson, ₹196.7 crore (70% of the project cost) will be secured as a loan from the World Bank, while the remaining ₹84.3 crore will be allocated from the state budget.
