New Delhi, 28 January 2025: The Union Government has scheduled an all-party meeting for January 30, 2025, in preparation for the upcoming Budget Session of Parliament, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju announced stressing the importance of collaborative discussions to ensure a productive session.

“On January 31st, the Budget session of Parliament will commence. Prior to this, on January 30th, we have called an all-party meeting,” Rijiju stated during his visit to Prayagraj.

He appealed to opposition leaders and Members of Parliament to engage constructively, noting, “In the last two sessions, there was some ‘hungama’ in the Parliament which created a poor image of our Parliament. I want to appeal to Opposition leaders and other MPs to take part and hold discussions in Parliament during the session. If the Opposition allows the Parliament to run, then discussions can happen easily.”

The Budget Session is set to begin on January 31, with President Droupadi Murmu addressing a joint sitting of both Houses.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Union Budget on February 1.

The session is scheduled to conclude on April 4, with an inter-session break from February 14 to March 10.

Rijiju expressed optimism about the forthcoming budget, stating, “Everyone is hopeful that a good Budget will be presented.”

He also accentuated the significance of the President’s address, which will outline the government’s agenda and priorities for the year.

The all-party meeting aims to foster dialogue and cooperation among various political factions, ensuring that the Budget Session proceeds smoothly and addresses the nation’s pressing issues.
