Lucknow, August 25: Addressing the youth at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Lucknow under Mission Rozgar, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced that the Uttar Pradesh government will hand over appointment letters to one lakh youth within the next six months as the process of declaring recruitment results remains underway.
During the ceremony organized through the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission, the Chief Minister handed over appointment letters to 3,446 newly selected Technical Assistants (Group-C) and 126 Mandi Secretaries in the Agriculture Department. On stage, 24 candidates directly received their letters from the Chief Minister, including 19 Technical Assistants and 5 Mandi Secretaries.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath declared that the commissions and boards operate with complete independence and transparency, complying with reservation rules while ensuring selection strictly according to merit. Over the last nine years, more than 9.30 lakh youth have secured government employment in Uttar Pradesh.
Directing recruitment boards to streamline their operations, the Chief Minister stated that the entire selection process must not exceed six months once a requisition is received. The boards must issue advertisements within one month and conduct examinations within the subsequent two months.
Contrasting the current system with the situation before 2017, the Chief Minister maintained that past administrations allowed favoritism, corruption, and the copying mafia to derail the future of the youth, often leading to court stays. The Chief Minister declared that the government broke the backbone of the copying mafia, confiscated their properties, and recovered public money.
The Chief Minister asserted that before 2017, UP Board examinations stretched over three months with results taking another three months, leaving students with barely three months to study. Today, examinations for 56 lakh candidates are completed within 14 days, and results are declared within the next 14 days without incidences of copying. Universities have likewise been instructed to focus on student skilling, career building, and employment generation.
The Chief Minister said that the 9.30 lakh newly employed youth represent a demographic dividend that helped triple the state’s economy and per capita income, lifting Uttar Pradesh out of the BIMARU status into the top three states in the country.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that international demand for the state’s skilled workforce has surged. A 240-member Japanese delegation comprising senior leaders and business captains recently visited UP seeking to recruit local youth. Countries such as Germany and Israel are also offering global employment opportunities. Over 5,000 youth from UP are currently working in Israel, earning up to ₹1.50 lakh monthly alongside designated food and lodging arrangements.
Chief Minister declared that lawlessness and theft of agricultural assets have been eliminated. In the power sector, farmers now receive 10 hours of electricity supply, and the government has waived electricity bills worth ₹3,000 crore for over 16 lakh private tubewells.
Key agricultural initiatives and infrastructure accomplishments mentioned include:
- Agricultural Growth: State agricultural growth rate expanded from 8 percent to 18 percent, with a target to reach 30 percent.
- Seed Infrastructure: Establishment of the Chaudhary Charan Singh Seed Park in Lucknow to ensure access to high-quality seeds.
- Direct Benefit Transfers: Over ₹3.25 lakh crore transferred directly into farmers’ bank accounts, including delayed disaster relief funds from 2014-15 that previous governments failed to distribute before 2017.
- Sugar Industry Revival: Operational sugar mills increased to 122. In contrast, between 2007 and 2017, previous governments closed 29 sugar mills and sold 21 at nominal rates. The state currently holds 28 lakh tonnes of sugar in stock against a monthly consumption of 4 lakh tonnes.
- Irrigation Expansion: Completion of major pending projects, including the Bansagar Project (2.5 lakh hectares), Arjun Sahayak Project, and the Saryu National Canal Project (14 lakh hectares across 9-10 districts).
- Social Security & MSP: Immediate financial aid of ₹5 lakh provided within 24 hours in cases of human-wildlife conflict, snakebites, or lightning strikes, alongside guaranteed Minimum Support Price (MSP) benefits.
Directions To Newly Appointed Mandi Secretaries
The Chief Minister advised the newly appointed Mandi Secretaries to maintain cleanliness, improve sheds, ensure timely road construction, and facilitate effective waste management across mandis. He instructed officials to accelerate the integration of mandis with e-NAM, promote drip and sprinkler irrigation, and assist farmers with value addition to boost their incomes.
