Shimla, 26 January 2025: Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla presided over the 76th Republic Day state-level celebrations at the Ridge in Shimla, where he unfurled the national flag and reviewed an impressive march past.
Parade Commander Lt. Gagandeep Chauhan of the 22 Jammu and Kashmir Rifles led the ceremonial march.
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur, Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh, and several other dignitaries were in attendance.
The parade featured contingents from the Army, Indo-Tibetan Border Police, Himachal Pradesh Armed Police, Punjab Police, State Police, Home Guards, Fire Services, Postal Services, Disaster Management, ex-servicemen, and cadets from the National Cadet Corps (NCC), National Service Scheme (NSS), and Bharat Scouts and Guides.
Tableau displays from various departments showcasing developmental activities captivated the audience.
Cultural troupes from Kinnaur, Hamirpur, Shimla, and Mandi performed traditional dances, while the North Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala, brought vibrant performances from Rajasthan and Uttarakhand.
The Governor praised the disciplined march past and commended the cultural diversity accentuated through the performances and tableau.
The ceremony witnessed a large gathering, celebrating unity and progress.
