Harbhajan Files Complaint After Social Media Clash

Chandigarh, 26 February — Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh has filed a police complaint following an online confrontation with an X user who questioned his patriotism and repeatedly demanded he say “Khalistan murdabad.”

The dispute began when the user, identified as Abhishek Singh from Bihar, shared an Instagram story by Harbhajan and urged him to make the statement.

The user continued pressing the demand while accusing the former spinner of supporting Pakistan. Harbhajan responded, calling the user “mentally unfit” and later revealed that an FIR had been filed against the account for alleged abuses.

Abhishek Singh, who reportedly quit his job despite earning ₹50,000 per month, describes his social media activity as “raids.”

He does not work for any law enforcement agency but claims to target individuals he believes have insulted Hindu gods or Hindus, encouraging police action against them.

After his Instagram account was suspended, he sought intervention from Union Minister Anurag Thakur.

His X account, created in February 2020 during the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) protests, has been associated with several provocative posts, according to Free Press Journal.
