Chandigarh, 23 November 2024: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Hardeep Singh Dimpy Dhillon has emerged victorious in the Giddarbaha Vidhan Sabha by-election, defeating Congress’s Amrita Waring by a margin of 21,801 votes.
Dhillon secured 71,198 votes, while Waring received 49,397 votes. BJP’s candidate, Manpreet Singh Badal, received 12,174 votes.
In his victory speech, Dhillon credited his success to the hard work of the party workers.
He said that his win was not just his own but a collective achievement.
Dimpy Dhillon, who previously left the Shiromani Akali Dal to join AAP, was given the party’s ticket for the Giddarbaha seat.
