Barnala/Chandigarh, Feb 19: Punjab Congress General Secretary and former Rajpura MLA Hardyal Singh Kamboj has been designated as the overall in-charge for the upcoming Congress rally in Barnala scheduled for February 28, 2026. The high-profile event will feature a special address by national Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
The appointment was formalized by Punjab Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring following instructions from Rahul Gandhi and Punjab Congress in-charge Bhupesh Baghel. To assist in the organizational duties, the party has also deployed three co-coordinators: Kamarhardeep Singh, Rajinder Deepa, and Satnam Singh Satta.
Kamboj has been directed to establish immediate contact with the District Congress Committee in Barnala to finalize logistics for the gathering. Party leadership indicated that the former MLA is expected to conduct a series of preparatory meetings in the coming days to ensure the event’s success.
In a statement regarding his new role, Hardyal Singh Kamboj affirmed his commitment to the responsibility. “I will strive to live up to the trust reposed in me by the national leadership and the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee,” he declared. He maintained that the people of Punjab are prepared to bring the Congress party back to power, asserting that the Barnala rally will set new records for public participation.
The appointment was further confirmed through a communication issued by PPCC General Secretary Sandeep Singh Sandhu. Kamboj stated that the increasing public support for the party is a sign that citizens view Congress as the only viable option for the state’s progress. He noted that the rally would mark a significant chapter in the party’s current political campaign.
