Chandigarh, 11 October, 2024: The Punjab Government has appointed Harjit Singh as the Director of Generation for the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) for a two-year term, succeeding Param Jit Singh, whose tenure ended on September 30.
Harjit Singh is recognized as a technically proficient and honest engineer. He brings extensive experience in thermal and hydel generation, having retired as engineer-in-chief from PSPCL after 35 years of service.
Throughout his career, he has worked in various capacities in design, construction, operation, and maintenance within thermal plants and hydel power stations.
In his previous role as engineer-in-chief, Harjit Singh served as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the CMD of PSPCL, assisting with matters related to fuel and the operation and maintenance of thermal and hydel power stations within the Generation Wing.
As Chief Engineer for Hydel, he oversaw the construction of the 206 MW Shahpur Kandi Project, as well as the design, renovation, modernization, and operation and maintenance of all hydel projects under PSPCL, including civil works associated with these initiatives.
