Haryana Allocates Rs 368.76 Lakh To SC Beneficiaries

Chandigarh, November 2, 2024: The Haryana Scheduled Caste Finance and Development Corporation has extended financial aid totaling Rs 368.76 lakh to 436 beneficiaries from Scheduled Castes under various schemes up to September 2024.

The assistance includes a subsidy component of Rs 32.01 lakh, aimed at supporting individuals in establishing businesses and pursuing self-employment.

The corporation provides loans across sectors such as agriculture, industry, trade, and self-employment, with support from the National Scheduled Caste Finance and Development Corporation.

In the agriculture and allied sectors, 227 beneficiaries received loans totaling Rs 181.10 lakh for activities including dairy farming, sheep and pig rearing, and jhota bagi (ox cart) rearing. Out of this amount, Rs 168.62 lakh was granted as bank loans, while Rs 12.48 lakh was provided as a subsidy.

In the trade and commerce sector, Rs 58.10 lakh was distributed to 61 beneficiaries, with Rs 46.52 lakh in bank loans, Rs 5.77 lakh as a subsidy, and Rs 5.81 lakh as margin money.

Moreover, the corporation, with assistance from the National Sanitation Workers Finance and Development Corporation, disbursed Rs 17 lakh to 17 beneficiaries. This amount includes a direct loan of Rs 5 lakh from the National Scheduled Caste Finance and Development Corporation and Rs 12 lakh from the Haryana Scheduled Caste Finance and Development Corporation.

A Haryana government spokesperson affirmed the commitment to economic empowerment for Scheduled Caste communities, stating these initiatives help promote self-sufficiency and financial independence among beneficiaries across the state.
