Mohali, November 28, 2025 — Haryana Governor Prof Ashim Kumar Ghosh on Thursday inaugurated the two-day FAP National Awards 2025, organized by Chandigarh University, celebrating excellence in academics, sports, and culture.
Addressing the gathering, Ghosh said private institutions are playing a pivotal role in elevating the standard of education in India. “Equity and inclusiveness in education require bringing more children from weaker sections into private schools,” he noted.
The Governor also highlighted the country’s progress in education, attributing it to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and historic reforms. “India’s growth as a global education hub reflects visionary policies that have strengthened the nation,” he said.
Chandigarh University Chancellor and Rajya Sabha MP Satnam Singh Sandhu said private educational institutions and teachers will be crucial in realizing the vision of an Atmanirbhar Bharat and a Viksit Bharat by 2047.
On the first day of the awards, Chandigarh University recognized 782 outstanding schools, principals, teachers, and meritorious students from 18 states and union territories, honoring their achievements across academics, sports, and cultural activities.
