Chandigarh, November 18 — The Haryana government on Tuesday elevated senior IPS officers Alok Mittal and Arshinder Singh Chawla to the rank of director general of police, placing both 1993-batch officers in the state’s top police leadership.

According to the order issued by the Home Department, Mittal and Chawla were serving as additional directors general of police before their promotion. Mittal is currently heading the Anti-Corruption Bureau, while Chawla serves as the director of the Haryana Police Academy in Madhuban, Karnal.
