Panchkula, March 29: Property acquisition across Haryana is set to become significantly more expensive starting April 1, following a government decision to hike collector rates by as much as 75 percent. This latest adjustment marks the third increase in property registration floors since the state assembly elections held in October 2024.

The collector rate serves as the government-mandated minimum price below which a property cannot be legally registered. These rates are not uniform across the state and fluctuate between different tehsils and specific zones within them. The current revision impacts various categories, including residential, commercial, industrial, and agricultural land.

Officials stated that the new rates follow previous hikes implemented in December 2024 and August 2025. In the Panchkula tehsil, commercial properties face some of the steepest increases. For instance, the rate for commercial booths in sectors such as 3, 27, and 28 has shifted from Rs 2.25 lakh per square meter to Rs 3.94 lakh per square meter.

Residential sectors are also seeing a major impact. In Sector 2 of the Mansa Devi Complex, rates for corner plots and those situated on primary roads are climbing from Rs 50,160 to Rs 87,780 per square meter.

Under the Kalka tehsil, residential floors in areas like Amravati and Pinjore are witnessing a 75 percent jump. Specifically, second-floor rates have been adjusted from Rs 5,148 per square foot to Rs 9,009 per square foot.

Authorities affirmed that the publicly released draft details these proposed changes to ensure transparency before the April deadline. They maintained that the adjustments are necessary to align registered values with prevailing market conditions across the state’s diverse real estate landscape.
