Yamunanagar, Jan 22: Haryana State Transport has expanded its interstate operations by launching a dedicated service from Yamunanagar to Mathura and Vrindavan. The service was inaugurated by local MLA Ghanshyam Das Arora, who stressed the government’s focus on enhancing connectivity for students and pilgrims alike.
The Yamunanagar fleet currently consists of 159 buses operating across rural, state, and interstate routes. This diverse fleet includes air-conditioned, electric, pink, and ordinary buses. During the launch event, officials mentioned that the city currently operates five electric buses, with plans to add 50 more units in the coming months to modernize local transport.
MLA Arora directly said that the new service would cater specifically to the needs of religious travelers by providing a direct and cost-effective route. “The aim of this bus service is to provide direct, safe, convenient and economical travel,” he stated, adding that the one-way fare of Rs 396 ensures accessibility for all sections of society.
The ceremony was attended by various dignitaries, including DPRO Dr. Manoj Kumar, BJP District President Rajesh Sapra, and Market Committee Chairman Rakesh Tyagi. The addition of this route is expected to significantly reduce the travel time and logistical hurdles for residents planning visits to the holy cities in Uttar Pradesh.
The transport department noted that the current fleet of 159 buses is already providing extensive facilities, and the addition of the Mathura-Vrindavan route marks a strategic expansion of the district’s transport network.
