McLeodganj, Aug. 12 — A 38-year-old tourist from Haryana was found dead under mysterious circumstances in his hotel room in McLeodganj, Kangra district, police said Tuesday.
The deceased, identified as Gaurav Gautam of Hisar, was discovered lying face down on the bed by hotel staff, who alerted police. Officers said they found blood oozing from his nose and traces of an unidentified liquid in the room.
He was taken to the Zonal Hospital in Dharamsala, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination, expected later in the day.
According to preliminary investigation, Gautam had been staying in McLeodganj since July 30. His family members told police they had urged him to return home, but he had complained of feeling unwell and said he would delay his return.
His relatives have since arrived to collect the body. Police said further investigation is in progress.
