Panchkula/Chandigarh, 11 October, 2024: The swearing-in ceremony for Haryana’s new BJP government is scheduled for October 15 in Panchkula, according to a senior official. Preparations for the event are already underway, as confirmed by Panchkula Deputy Commissioner Dr. Yash Garg.
“We are preparing the venue for the event,” Garg told PTI in a phone interview. A district-level committee, chaired by Garg, has been established to oversee the arrangements for the ceremony.
The BJP has indicated that Nayab Singh Saini, who replaced Manohar Lal Khattar as chief minister in March and represents the Other Backward Classes, will be the party’s nominee for the top post if it secures victory in the recent elections.
Sources suggest that the ceremony is expected to attract significant attendance, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and prominent BJP leaders, such as chief ministers from BJP-ruled states.
In the October 5 elections, the BJP achieved its best-ever performance, winning 48 seats—11 more than the Congress. The JJP and AAP faced significant losses, while the INLD managed to secure only two seats.
