Patiala, April 12: A two-day health initiative at the Rajindra Gymkhana and Mahindra Club (RGMC) concluded on Sunday, resulting in the registration of more than 500 individuals for the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana. The camp, organized on April 11 and 12, targeted club members, their families, and staff to ensure broad access to the state’s primary healthcare insurance scheme.

Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh, who attended the event, stated that the government’s objective is to achieve 100 percent coverage for all citizens. He noted that total registrations across Punjab have recently climbed from 34 lakh to 40 lakh. “Health cards are essential for all. As Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann emphasises, health comes first for everyone, as illness does not differentiate between VIP and common person,” Dr. Singh declared. He maintained that the scheme provides a financial safety net of ₹10 lakh per family annually for cashless medical treatment.

The camp drew participation from a diverse group of influential members, including senior bureaucrats, doctors, and industrialists. PRTC Chairman Harpal Juneja, a member of the club, affirmed that it was encouraging to see prominent citizens lead by example in securing their health cards. Club Director Rahul Mehta also noted that the staff members participated with equal enthusiasm, ensuring that the workforce was protected before any medical emergency arose.

Authorities stated that the registration process has been simplified to include doorstep delivery and daily camps at community hubs like Gurudwaras and Panchayat Ghars. Dr. Singh affirmed that the government has already issued payments to insurers in advance to ensure that treatment at empanelled hospitals remains entirely cashless. He maintained that the steady daily registration of nearly 50,000 people across the state reflects a growing public trust in the administration’s healthcare initiatives.
