Lucknow, June 23: A Special Investigation Team has been constituted to probe a devastating fire in Lucknow that claimed at least 15 lives and left multiple individuals injured. Authorities moved swiftly to arrest four individuals connected to the management and ownership of the commercial facility following the tragedy.

The fire erupted on Monday afternoon inside a commercial complex located in Sector D of Aliganj, which housed both an animation training centre and a pet shop. The fast-spreading blaze trapped numerous occupants inside the structure as thick smoke and intense flames rapidly engulfed the exits, leading to a high number of casualties among young students attending classes at the training institute.

The severity of the incident prompted immediate adjustments from the state leadership to supervise the emergency response. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday cancelled nearly all of his scheduled engagements, including planned visits to Hathras and Agra, following the devastating fire in Lucknow that claimed at least 15 lives and left several others injured.

A political representative affirmed that the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Uttar Pradesh unit also announced the suspension of all organisational events planned for Tuesday as a mark of respect for those who lost their lives in the fire.

The site remained heavily guarded the following day as forensic teams arrived to collect evidence. On Tuesday morning, a large number of people gathered outside the site of the tragedy, where police personnel sealed off the area and restricted access, though some residents and members of the media assembled nearby to document the aftermath.
