New Delhi, July 20: Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan engaged in extended discussions with Union Home Minister Amit Shah at Parliament House as protests organized by the Cockroach Janta Party expanded across the national capital. The meeting commenced following the initial adjournment of the Lok Sabha morning session and continued for over two hours.

Sources close to the developments indicated that the ministers evaluated strategic responses to the rising youth agitation demanding examination reforms and administrative accountability.

“The government is assessing all aspects of the situation,” an official source stated regarding the high-level meeting. “Discussions are focused on maintaining order while addressing the core concerns raised by the demonstrators.”

The ongoing agitation centres on allegations surrounding the NEET-UG 2026 examination, with demonstrators pressing for the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Health Minister JP Nadda previously met with CJP representatives Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka, later conveying the delegation’s specific demands to Home Minister Amit Shah.

Concurrently, climate activist Sonam Wangchuk released a formal framework outlining prerequisites for concluding his hunger strike. Reports suggest government representatives may arrange a meeting with Wangchuk at the hospital where he is staying, though official confirmation remains pending.

“Our demands are clear and non-negotiable,” a CJP senior leader declared during the afternoon rally. “We are waiting to see whether the administration takes concrete steps or continues with internal deliberations.”
