Shimla/Manali, March 13 — Himachal Pradesh is expected to witness widespread rain and snow till Sunday, the local Met office said on Thursday, issuing a yellow alert for heavy rain, thunderstorms, and lightning in Chamba, Kangra, and Kullu on Saturday and Sunday.
The forecast includes heavy rain in Mandi on Sunday and heavy snowfall in Lahaul and Spiti on Saturday. Tourist destinations like Manali, Narkanda, Kufri, Solang Valley, and Sissu are likely to receive light to moderate snowfall, while rain is expected in Shimla.
Most areas in Kinnaur and higher reaches of Kangra, Chamba, and Kullu could experience light to moderate snowfall from Thursday to Sunday. Thunderstorms and lightning are also expected in 10 districts, including Sirmaur, Shimla, Mandi, Solan, Hamirpur, Bilaspur, Una, Kangra, Chamba, and Kullu.
