Shimla, Sept. 30 – Himachal Pradesh is bracing for heavy rainfall as a fresh western disturbance is expected to affect northwest India from October 4. The state meteorological department has issued a yellow warning for districts including Kangra, Bilaspur, Una, Sirmaur, and Chamba.
The system is expected to cause a drop in maximum temperatures by 2°C to 3°C, officials said. Over the past 24 hours, weather across the state remained mostly dry, with minimum temperatures ranging between 5°C and 25°C, and maximum temperatures between 20°C and 36°C.
Shimla recorded 25.2°C, Dharamshala 29°C, Manali 25.6°C, Kangra 32.2°C, Mandi 30.6°C, Bilaspur 33.9°C, Hamirpur 30.9°C, Nahan 29.5°C, Solan 30.2°C, Bhuntar 32°C, Kufri 20.3°C, Kalpa 24°C, and Narkanda 20.8°C. Una was the hottest location at 35.2°C, while Tabo in the tribal district recorded the coldest temperature at 5.2°C.
Authorities have advised residents in the affected districts to stay alert and take necessary precautions ahead of the expected rainfall.
