Panchkula, March 25: The Panchkula district traffic police seized an illegal private bus and issued a fine of ₹43,500 during a targeted enforcement operation conducted late Monday night. Officials stated that the vehicle, which was traveling from Baddi in Himachal Pradesh toward Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh, was intercepted near Ramgarh after a short pursuit.

The enforcement action was initiated following a specific tip-off regarding the bus’s unauthorized movement through village Madhawala. Upon stopping the vehicle, traffic authorities maintained that the driver was unable to provide a valid route permit for the interstate journey. Police declared the operation a direct violation of the Motor Vehicles Act and immediately moved to impound the bus.

A senior police official affirmed that the drive against illegal transport operators will remain a priority to ensure compliance with road safety and licensing regulations. The department asserted that such strict measures are necessary to curb the unauthorized plying of private vehicles on established state routes.
