Chandigarh/Ludhiana, March 4 – The Ludhiana Commissionerate Police, under the Yudh Nashya Virudh campaign, demolished illegal structures belonging to two drug smugglers in Talwandi Kalan village.
According to reports, the buildings, constructed on encroached railway land, were cleared in coordination with railway authorities.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Jaskiranjeet Singh Teja said the demolition followed a request from the railway department, which identified the encroachments.
“The accused had unlawfully occupied railway land. The operation was conducted smoothly with adequate personnel to prevent disruptions,” he said.
According to officials, one of the accused, Rani, faces five cases under the NDPS Act, while Shinder Pal, also known as Nikka, has nine cases against him.
Authorities confirmed the railway department has listed 32 encroachments in Ludhiana.
Teja reiterated the Punjab government’s commitment to cracking down on drug traffickers.
“No one involved in the drug trade will be spared. Strictest action will continue,” he said.
