Chandigarh, 6 February 2025: The Income Tax Department conducted raids at multiple locations in Punjab, including the official and private residence of Congress MLA Rana Gurjit Singh.
The raid, which began around 5 a.m., also extended to Ropar, where officials searched the house of Jeevan Gill, a close associate of the MLA.
While no official statement has been issued by the department, reports indicate that a team of 5-6 officers is inspecting electronic gadgets and documents at Rana Gurjit’s residence.
The officials have reportedly restricted movement in and out of the premises and switched off the family members’ phones.
In Ropar, Jeevan Gill’s son, Harjinder Singh Jinda Gill, stated that the officers who arrived at their house identified themselves as belonging to the Income Tax Department.
