New Delhi, Jan 25: President Droupadi Murmu announced that India is moving steadily toward becoming the world’s third-largest economy during her address on the eve of the 77th Republic Day. She noted that the nation has maintained a pattern of continuous economic growth even while many parts of the globe face financial instability.

The President mentioned that the relationship between the state and its citizens has seen a positive shift. “The gap between the government and the general public is being continuously reduced,” she said.

In her address, she also spoke about India’s role in maintaining global harmony. “In an atmosphere marked by conflicts in many parts of the world, India is spreading the message of peace,” Murmu said. She further noted that the nation’s increasing independence in the military sector was evident recently, stating that “our self-reliance in the field of defence powered the historic success of Operation Sindoor.”

The President described the Constitution as the “foundational document of the largest republic in world history” and urged the public to continue fostering national harmony. She said that “every effort to promote the spirit of oneness is highly commendable.”
