NEW DELHI, May 21: India on Wednesday dismissed as baseless Pakistan’s allegations that New Delhi was behind a suicide bomb attack on a school bus in Khuzdar, Balochistan, that left five people, including three children, dead and several others injured.
Responding to the accusations, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that Pakistan’s habit of blaming India for its internal issues was a desperate attempt to deflect from its own global image as the “epicenter of terrorism.”
“India rejects the baseless allegations made by Pakistan regarding Indian involvement in the incident in Khuzdar earlier today,” Jaiswal said in a statement.
“While India condoles the loss of lives in all such incidents, this constant blame game reflects Pakistan’s efforts to hoodwink the world,” he added.
The MEA said the attempt to malign India is “doomed to fail”, asserting that Pakistan must instead take accountability for its internal security failures and stop using India as a scapegoat.
The strong rebuttal comes hours after Pakistani authorities accused India of orchestrating the tragic bombing targeting schoolchildren in restive Balochistan province.
