ODISHA, DEC 31, 2025: India on Wednesday successfully test-fired two indigenously developed Pralay missiles in quick succession off the Odisha coast, marking another step in strengthening the country’s conventional strike capabilities.
The Defence Research and Development Organisation conducted the tests as part of user evaluation trials, according to the defence ministry. Both missiles performed as expected during the flight, officials said.
“The flight-test was conducted as part of user evaluation trials. Both the missiles followed the intended trajectory meeting all flight objectives as confirmed by tracking sensors,” the ministry said in a statement.
Pralay is a short-range, quasi-ballistic missile equipped with a state-of-the-art navigation system designed to deliver high precision. The missile is capable of carrying different types of warheads to engage a range of targets.
Officials said the successful trials validated key operational parameters of the missile system under realistic conditions. Further tests may be carried out before its induction into the armed forces.
