Chandigarh, February 28, 2026: Indian diplomatic missions across the Gulf region have issued urgent advisories to their citizens over the deteriorating security situation in the Middle East.Following joint military strikes by the United States and Israel on Iran, embassies in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Jordan, Bahrain, and Palestine have called on Indian nationals to “exercise utmost caution” and remain in close contact with local authorities.
The Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General in Dubai declared that while they continue to function normally, nationals should “avoid unnecessary travel” and strictly follow safety guidelines. The mission provided a dedicated toll-free number (800-46342) and WhatsApp contact (+971543090571) for emergency assistance. This move comes as the UAE and Iraq announced the closure of their respective airspaces due to the ongoing conflict.
In Saudi Arabia, the Indian Embassy at Riyadh affirmed the need for residents to “remain vigilant” and adhere to prevalent safety protocols. Officials maintained that both the Riyadh embassy and the Jeddah consulate remain operational, providing a 24/7 helpline (00-966-11-4884697) for those in need. The advisory follows reports of explosions and siren activity in neighboring Kuwait and Qatar.
The situation in Jordan prompted a more specific directive, with the Indian Embassy advising tourists to leave the country “immediately before operations of commercial flights get disrupted.” The mission stated that the prevailing regional situation necessitates heightened awareness and diligent adherence to local updates.
“Please exercise caution and avoid unnecessary movement,” the Representative Office of India in Ramallah asserted in an advisory to nationals in Palestine. Similar warnings were mirrored by the mission in Bahrain, where reports surfaced of missile activity targeting naval installations.
The Indian government maintained that its missions are monitoring the situation closely and will issue updates as necessary. Diplomats declared that the safety of Indian citizens remains the top priority as the conflict between the joint US-Israeli forces and Iranian paramilitary groups continues to impact regional stability.
