Mohali, March 12: Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Thursday performed the groundbreaking ceremony for a new ₹286 crore Infosys campus in Mohali, declaring the project a cornerstone of Punjab’s industrial turnaround. The Chief Minister stated that the facility will provide direct employment to 2,700 youth and create thousands of additional indirect opportunities, signaling a return of global investor confidence to the state.

The first phase of the project will feature a 3,50,000 square foot integrated campus, including a software development block and a food court with a total seating capacity of 3,000. Chief Minister Mann asserted that the state government is committed to extending full cooperation to the technology giant, noting that such investments will encourage further global players to establish operations in Punjab.
“Punjab has now emerged on the global industrial map,” the Chief Minister declared, adding that the state has attracted investment proposals exceeding ₹1,55,000 crore since March 2022. He maintained that these investments are projected to create jobs for over 5,44,000 young people. He also noted that the upcoming Progressive Punjab Investment Summit, scheduled for March 13 to 15, will serve as a defining moment for the state’s economic trajectory.
The Chief Minister further highlighted that the state’s peaceful environment and industry-friendly policies have replaced a previous era marked by the “arm-twisting” of industrialists. He affirmed that with a transparent single-window system and the Right to Business Act, Mohali is positioned to become a global industrial hub, bolstered by its international airport and vast talent pool.
