NUH, July 13 — Internet and bulk SMS services have been suspended in Haryana’s Nuh district for 24 hours, beginning 9 PM on July 13 until 9 PM on July 14, as part of preventive measures to maintain law and order in the region.
The suspension order was issued by the Additional Chief Secretary of the Home Department. While general internet and bulk messaging services will remain unavailable during this period, text messages related to banking and mobile recharge will continue as usual.
Officials said the step was taken to prevent any potential spread of misinformation or rumour-mongering, which could disrupt public peace. “These temporary restrictions are necessary to ensure the smooth management of law and order,” the Home Department stated in the order.
Authorities have not specified the exact trigger behind the latest suspension but have indicated that it is a precautionary measure. This is not the first time digital communication services have been curbed in the district, which has seen similar suspensions in the past during periods of heightened tension.
