Bathinda, April 10: The family of social media influencer Kanchan Kumari, popularly known as Kamal Kaur Bhabhi, has called for a conclusive legal end to the investigation following the return of the primary accused to Punjab. Amritpal Singh Mehron, who was brought back from Dubai by the Bathinda police, faces charges related to the brutal murder of the influencer ten months ago.
Anil, the brother of the deceased, stated that the family feels a sense of gratitude toward the police department for securing the custody of the key suspect. He noted that the violent incident has had a devastating impact on his household, asserting that his mother has remained bedridden since the murder occurred last year. He maintained that the family is hopeful her health might improve once a legal resolution is reached.
The victim’s brother also addressed the behavior of several radical elements who attempted to glorify the accused through the display of posters and flexes over the past year. He declared that all individuals involved in the crime should face punishment strictly according to the law. He stated that the family remains focused on the judicial process to ensure accountability for the loss of his sister.
The local administration in Ludhiana affirmed that it will not permit any efforts to project Mehron as a heroic figure. Authorities declared that strict measures will be maintained to prevent the glorification of the accused during the ongoing legal proceedings.
The social media presence of the late influencer has seen a significant surge in engagement since her final post on June 9, 2025. Her account currently holds 461,000 followers, an increase of approximately 80,000 since the time of her death.
