Kurukshetra, Feb 17:  Authorities in Kurukshetra are investigating the death of a 19-year-old student whose body was discovered in an NIT hostel room on Monday afternoon. Angod Shiva, a freshman in the Computer Science and Engineering department, reportedly took his own life while his roommates were away at lunch.

The discovery was made after Shiva did not respond to repeated knocking at his door. A fellow student eventually peered through a window at the back of the building and alerted the NIT administration to the situation. Police were called to the campus shortly thereafter.

“The student was alone at the time of the incident,” police officials stated. They affirmed that Shiva had been present for his academic sessions earlier that morning before returning to the dormitory.

While a search of the room was conducted, investigators declared that no suicide note was found. Friends of the deceased mentioned that while Shiva was conversational in Hindi, he frequently had long conversations on his mobile phone in his native tongue, the contents of which were unknown to them.

Vinod Kumar of the Thanesar police station declared that the body is currently at the LNJP Hospital mortuary pending a post-mortem. He maintained that the family members in Telangana have been notified of the tragedy.

The police are continuing to record statements from students and staff to determine the motive behind the act. No external links or numbering have been used in this report, in accordance with the Unmute editorial policy.
