IPL 2025: Chennai Super Kings head coach Stephen Fleming rejected the criticism that the days of his team’s style of cricket are over. He said that the Chennai team has a lot of aggression and no one should make the mistake of underestimating them. When asked if the days of his style of cricket are over, the former New Zealand captain said, “What does it mean, what is my style of cricket. Winning the first match is the right way. We have a lot of aggression within us. I did not understand this question.

Hard Work Undermined by Costly Mistakes: Fleming

He said, “Just because we do not start hitting from the first ball. We will see in the end. We play positive cricket and no one can underestimate us. This is a stupid question.” Fleming, however, admitted that his team’s fielding was very poor in Friday’s match. He said, “We missed two-three chances. We gave them a chance to build pressure. A score of 175 would have been right but we made mistakes in fielding. Josh Hazlewood bowled brilliantly for RCB.” Mahendra Singh Dhoni scored unbeaten 30 runs in 16 balls and broke Suresh Raina’s record of scoring the most runs for Chennai in IPL history.

Fleming said, ‘He has been practicing for the last one month and has worked hard on his fitness with the trainer. However, when he came to bat, it became very difficult to win.’

IPL 2025: RCB defeated CSK

On the basis of captain Rajat Patidar’s half-century and disciplined performance of the bowlers, Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Chennai Super Kings at its stronghold Chepauk after 17 years. RCB won by 50 runs. In reply to RCB’s 196 runs for seven wickets, five-time champion Chennai Super Kings could only score 146 runs for eight wickets. This was RCB’s first win against Chennai at Chepauk since the first season of IPL in 2008.
