Iran Thanks India for Support Amid Conflict with Israel

New Delhi, 25 June — The Iranian Embassy in New Delhi has publicly thanked the people and institutions of India for their vocal support and solidarity during Tehran’s recent military confrontation with Israel.

In a statement posted Wednesday on X (formerly Twitter), the embassy extended its “heartfelt gratitude” to a broad cross-section of Indian society, including citizens, political parties, Members of Parliament, NGOs, religious leaders, academics, journalists, and activists, acknowledging their firm stance in favor of Iran.

“The Iran Embassy in New Delhi extends its heartfelt gratitude to all noble and freedom-loving people of India… who, in recent days and in various forms, stood firmly and vocally with the great nation of Iran,” the embassy said.

The embassy noted that Indian expressions of support—including public messages, solidarity statements, and participation in peace gatherings—had offered “deep encouragement” at a time when Iran faced a “brutal military assault by the occupying Zionist regime.”

“These gestures clearly reflect the awakened conscience of nations and their commitment to justice and the principles of international law,” the statement added.

Iran also underscored the broader implications of such international solidarity, stating that the show of support was not merely political, but a reaffirmation of shared human values. “The solidarity of world nations with the people of Iran is… an affirmation of the universal values of justice, legality, and global peace.”

Reaffirming Tehran’s stance, the embassy said Iran remains committed to defending international law and standing against expansionist and aggressive policies. “We firmly believe that the unity and solidarity of nations serve as a powerful bulwark against war, violence, and injustice,” the statement emphasized.

The message concluded with appreciation for the cultural and civilizational bonds between India and Iran. “Undoubtedly, this solidarity—rooted in the longstanding cultural, civilizational, and human ties between our two nations—will further strengthen the cause of peace, stability, and global justice,” it said.

The diplomatic outreach comes amid ongoing regional tensions. Since June 13, Israel, with backing from the United States, launched a series of strikes targeting Iran’s nuclear infrastructure. The campaign included the use of bunker-buster bombs and missiles against uranium enrichment and research sites, which Israeli and U.S. officials claim dealt a major setback to Iran’s nuclear capabilities, according to The Times of Israel.

On Tuesday morning, U.S. President Donald Trump announced a ceasefire between Iran and Israel, calling on both sides to uphold the truce. However, the fragile peace was tested within hours when reports emerged of missile fire from Iran toward northern Israel. While Israeli officials vowed retaliation, Iran’s state news agency ISNA denied the claim, asserting no missiles were launched after the ceasefire came into effect.

With both nations confirming the ceasefire, the situation remains volatile as questions persist over the durability of the truce and the future of Iran’s nuclear ambitions.
