Jalandhar/Chandigarh, 20 October 2024 — Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Agarwal convened a high-level meeting today to assess the status of key developmental projects in the district, involving investments worth crores of rupees.
Noting the urgency of these projects, he stated, “Development work should be completed soon, and no delay will be tolerated.” Present at the meeting, held at the District Administrative Complex, were Municipal Corporation Jalandhar Commissioner Gautam Jain and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Urban Development) Jasbir Singh.
Dr. Agarwal instructed officials to prioritize the quality of the development projects, declaring, “No compromise will be made in terms of quality.”
The meeting focused on several key issues, including the Reru-Dhogadi Road, Lampind-Jandu Singha Road, Adampur Airport Approach Road, Sports Hub at Burlton Park, Subhana Railway Underpass Project, and the reconstruction of roads damaged during sewage line installation.
The Deputy Commissioner urged officers to visit the field personally to supervise the progress of the development works, ensuring they are completed within the stipulated timeframe. After reviewing the Reru-Dhogadi Road project, he directed the Water Supply and Sewerage Department officials to expedite the pipeline installation so that subsequent road work could proceed without delay.
Regarding the Lampind-Jandu Singha Road, Dr. Agarwal instructed PSPCL officials to relocate electric poles promptly to facilitate the timely completion of the four-lane road. While discussing the sports hub project at Burlton Park, he recommended breaking it into smaller segments for efficient execution.
Moreover, he called for accelerated efforts to reconstruct roads damaged during sewage line work.
