Jalandhar, Feb 23: The Punjab Jagriti Manch will organize its annual “Maa Boli Punjabi March” in Jalandhar on Thursday, February 26, to mark International Mother Language Day. The event aims to bring together educators, religious leaders, and social organizations to promote the Punjabi language.
Punjab Jagriti Manch General Secretary Deepak Bali stated that the procession will follow its traditional route, commencing from Lyallpur Khalsa School on Nakodar Road. The march is scheduled to conclude at Desh Bhagat Yadgar Hall after passing through several major landmarks, including Dr. Ambedkar Chowk and Shri Ram Chowk.

“All respected personalities who love the Punjabi mother language will participate, apart from various schools, colleges, religious organizations, and social organizations,” Bali declared during a preparatory meeting at the Jalandhar Circuit House.
The meeting, held under the leadership of Manch President Satnam Singh Manak and Bali, served to assign specific duties to ensure the march remains orderly. Members affirmed that the concluding ceremony at Desh Bhagat Yadgar Hall will feature various Punjabi singers performing songs dedicated to the mother tongue.
The gathering included several prominent figures, such as Kamlesh Duggal, Atam Prakash Bablu, and Sukhbir Chatha, who joined in the planning. Bali asserted that the march serves as a vital platform for Punjabi lovers to demonstrate their commitment to their linguistic roots.
