Mandi, April 5: BJP MP from Mandi and actor Kangana Ranaut on Saturday voiced strong support for the newly introduced Wakf Board Bill in Parliament, calling it a “great day for the country.”

Speaking during her visit to Mandi, Kangana commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and his drive to eliminate corruption. She directly linked the creation of the Wakf Board to the Congress party and alleged large-scale land encroachment under its tenure.

“The formation of the Wakf Board was an act by Congress, during which there was massive encroachment of land,” she told reporters. “Today, we are fortunate to have a leader like Prime Minister Modi who is working tirelessly to clean up corruption everywhere.”

Referring to the legal framework around encroachments, Kangana added, “No one is above the law. If any land is encroached upon, they cannot seek help from the law to reclaim it. This is why I fully support the Wakf Board Bill introduced in Parliament, as it is a step towards rectifying these issues.”

The Bill, recently tabled in Parliament, seeks to bring reforms to the administration of Wakf properties and address long-standing concerns about unauthorized occupation of land.

During her visit, Kangana also visited the Bhootnath temple, where she offered prayers and performed a puja. She extended her greetings for Navratri to the people of Mandi and across Himachal Pradesh, praying for peace and prosperity in the region.

Kangana’s comments signal her firm political alignment with the Modi government’s policy agenda while also reinforcing her public outreach in her home constituency.
