Abohar, Feb 17: The search for a missing mother of two from Karnataka concluded in a rented house in Abohar, where the woman declared her intention to start a new life with a local youth. Authorities affirmed Tuesday that the woman traveled across several states to join Sonu, a 19-year-old who earns a living selling street food with his father.
Police investigators maintained that the relationship began through the “Free Fire” mobile gaming platform roughly five months ago. The woman, who had been living with her parents since her husband’s death last year, stated that the digital connection offered her a path toward a new future. She affirmed that she deliberately severed communication with her family during the journey to ensure she could reach Punjab undisturbed.
The investigation involved a joint effort between City-2 police in Abohar and a specialized team from Karnataka. Officers recorded statements from both the woman and Sonu’s family members. “Now, she wants to live with her boyfriend,” a police official noted, confirming that the woman stood firm in her decision despite the arrival of the police team.
Sonu’s mother, who resides in a rented accommodation where the family has lived for 18 years, affirmed that her son had not committed any wrongdoing. She stated that the family, which includes eight children, is supportive of the relationship. With the woman’s refusal to return to her parents, the Karnataka police officials were forced to depart without her.
