NEW DELHI, OCT 16: Aam Aadmi Party national convener Arvind Kejriwal launched a sharp political attack against Union Home Minister Amit Shah, asserting that narcotics are being smuggled into Punjab through commercial ports in Western India.
Responding to allegations by Shah that the state administration had failed to control organized crime networks, Kejriwal countered that political protection and commercial trade gateways are fueling the regional drug crisis.
The AAP leader accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of attempting to forge a political alliance with former regional coalition partners to profit from the ongoing illicit narcotics trade.
“You people are spreading drugs in Punjab through Adani ports! You people who provided protection in Sabarmati Jail to the one spreading gangs in Punjab. You people who, from 2007-2017, colluded with the ‘Chitta Party’ to spread drugs in Punjab and are now again joining hands with that same party, dreaming of earning billions by selling drugs in Punjab once more?” Kejriwal stated.
Highlighting regional political grievances, Kejriwal alleged that rival political entities are targeting Punjab’s vital resources, including river waters, regional university governance, and federal administrative claims over Chandigarh.
