Ludhiana, August 15: Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal joined thousands of devotees at the ‘Ek Shaam Bhagwan Shiv Ke Naam’ bhajan sandhya held in Ludhiana, praising the state administration for promoting religious heritage and community welfare. Addressing the gathering, the AAP leader maintained that the current administration has taken unprecedented steps to support cultural traditions and facilitate public pilgrimages.
The devotional evening, which featured performances by singer Kailash Kher, forms part of a statewide cultural series being hosted across 23 cities in Punjab.
“The kind of work the Bhagwant Mann government is doing for Sanatan Dharma has never been done by any government before,” Arvind Kejriwal declared during the address. He affirmed that public support and spiritual blessings remain with Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, adding, “Bhagwan Shiv’s blessings, along with those of the people of Punjab, are with CM Bhagwant Singh Mann to return as Chief Minister”.
Highlighting welfare initiatives, the AAP convenor pointed out that direct financial assistance under state schemes is reaching eligible women across Punjab, alongside continuous benefits like zero electricity bills. He shared that domestic financial relief has enabled families to meet personal aspirations and everyday needs with dignity.
The address also drew attention to the expansion of the Mukh Mantri Teerath Yatra Yojana, which now includes new pilgrimage routes to Khatu Shyam-Salasar, Haridwar-Rishikesh, and Mathura-Vrindavan, offering free travel and accommodation to pilgrims.
“The entire journey, including travel, food and accommodation, is absolutely free,” Arvind Kejriwal asserted, noting that pilgrims are provided luxury transport and air-conditioned accommodation without any financial burden.
Additionally, the AAP chief highlighted major state-supported cultural and infrastructure projects, including the ongoing redevelopment of the Mata Kali Temple in Patiala and free statewide performances of the theatrical production ‘Hamare Ram’. He concluded that such initiatives ensure residents can connect with their spiritual roots with pride and convenience.
