New Delhi, April 2: Aam Aadmi Party national convener Arvind Kejriwal has requested an urgent meeting with Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel following the alleged large-scale arrest of party workers.

In a communication addressed to the Chief Minister, Kejriwal stated that more than 160 workers have already been taken into custody as the state prepares for upcoming panchayat and municipal elections.

The AAP leader asserted that there is an active plan to arrest more than 10,000 additional members across the state.

He maintained that these actions are being carried out illegally to hinder the party’s campaign efforts.

“The BJP is badly rattled by the growing popularity of the AAP,” Kejriwal declared in his statement.

He affirmed that the ruling party’s response to his organization’s rise in Gujarat has involved tactics that the public will not support.

Kejriwal stated that the people of Gujarat do not approve of such arrests or what he described as hooliganism.

He maintained that voters would provide a fitting response to these developments during the electoral process.

The party maintained that the arrests are a direct result of the political challenge AAP poses in the region.

Kejriwal affirmed that despite these hurdles, the party remains committed to its electoral objectives in the state.
